Raw brass will tarnish over time. Some folks like the rustic vintage appearance while others prefer the shiny gold look.
There are many options when cleaning your brass. You can go natural using lemon juice and water or I use Brasso cleaner you can find at Home Depot, Target or online. I also love mixing a bit of Bar Keepers Friend with water. I soak the brass in that solution for a few minutes and watch it shine!
